Job description

Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support and General Classroom TA)

Teaching Personnel are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a large primary school team. This is a full-time role, supporting a child 1:1 in the mornings and working as a general class TA in the afternoons.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with additional needs in the morning, ensuring they are engaged and progressing in their learning
  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored interventions
  • Support the class as a whole in the afternoon, helping with group activities, classroom management, and general tasks
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children succeed
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
  • A flexible, proactive approach and the ability to adapt to different situations
  • An understanding of supporting children with additional needs is beneficial

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
