Special Needs Assistant
Job description
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children? Do you have a caring and patient nature? We are recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work with children who have Special Education Needs and Social Emotional and Mental Health needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN and SEMH, including those with physical, emotional, and learning difficulties.
- Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering tailored lessons and activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Support the emotional, social, and behavioral development of students.
- Help with personal care and mobility as needed.
- Promote independence and self-confidence in students.
- Observe and report on students' progress, highlighting areas for development.
- Be engaging, positive and resilient!
Requirement:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to working with children and young adults.
- A strong commitment to promoting inclusion and equal opportunities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) would be advantageous but not essential.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
