Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Small Primary School, Bootle
Start Date: November
Contract Type: Temp-to-Perm (via Teaching Personnel)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Bootle as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, starting in November on a temp-to-perm basis.

Key Details:

  • Role: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Year Group: Supporting a Year 1 pupil with Autism and some challenging behaviour
  • Contract: Temp-to-perm. You will initially work through Teaching Personnel with the view to transition onto a school contract after a successful probationary period.

We are seeking someone who is patient, compassionate, and skilled in supporting children with Autism and additional needs. Experience with challenging behaviour is desirable but not essential as full support and training will be provided.

Additional Vacancies: The school is also looking to hire 2 additional 1:1 Teaching Assistants for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils with varying Sepcial Education Needs, starting in November.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN or in a similar role
  • A calm, positive, and adaptable approach to supporting challenging behaviour
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
