Teaching Personnel is a leading recruitment agency specializing in education, dedicated to placing skilled and passionate staff in schools across the UK. We are currently partnering with a special school in Tiverton to find an exceptional SEN Teaching Assistant to support their students.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work full-time at an 11-16 special school in Tiverton. The role involves supporting students in years 7-11 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), focusing particularly on those with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and related Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with ASC and SEMH needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
  • Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and EHCPs.
  • Work closely with teachers to develop and adapt teaching materials to meet students’ specific needs.
  • Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behavior.
  • Monitor and record students' progress and well-being, providing feedback to teachers and other professionals as required.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
