SEN Teaching Assistants – Full-Time Roles Starting January 2024
Location: Dawlish, Teignbridge
Pay Rate: £84.50 - £95.00 per day
Employment Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Perm

Are you committed to helping pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) achieve their potential? Teaching Personnel is excited to offer multiple full-time opportunities for SEN Teaching Assistants at Orchard Manor School, starting in January 2024.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students across primary and secondary levels. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and group support tailored to the individual needs of pupils with PMLD.
  • Assisting in classroom activities, therapeutic sessions, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Supporting students with personal care and mobility needs, ensuring dignity and independence.
  • Working closely with teachers, support staff, and external specialists to deliver an engaging curriculum.
  • Encouraging positive behaviors and fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking candidates who:

  • Have experience working with children with SEN, particularly PMLD, or a strong desire to develop their skills in this area.
  • Are empathetic, patient, and adaptable.
  • Possess excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Are willing to assist with personal care and additional needs where required.
  • Hold (or are willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check.
