Exciting Opportunity: SEN Teaching Assistant Required – Okehampton, Devon

Salary: £90 - £100 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time (Temp to Perm)

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Teaching Personnel is recruiting two dynamic and energetic SEN Teaching Assistants for a special school in Okehampton. The school supports children with SEMH, Autism, and other learning needs, and is seeking active, creative individuals to bring their energy and enthusiasm into the classroom.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH, Autism, and other SEN. You’ll use your sporty, hands-on approach to engage students through physical activities and interactive learning. Your role will be key in helping students develop their academic, social, and emotional skills, while building their confidence and fostering a positive attitude toward learning.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience with SEMH, Autism, or other SEN (desired but not essential).
  • Sporty, energetic, and able to create fun, interactive learning opportunities.
  • Calm, empathetic, and capable of managing challenging behaviours positively.
  • Strong communicator, able to work well within a team.
  • Passionate about helping children overcome challenges and reach their potential.
  • Flexible, proactive, and hands-on in supporting students.
  • Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check (if not already in place).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
