Job description
Teaching Personnel are working with several SEN schools within the Hertfordshire area. It is an exciting time to register with us, as the new academic year starts and a number of our client schools are looking for full-time, reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants.
Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Locations: Redbourn, Luton, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans and surrounding areas (Hertfordshire – UK)
Job Type: Temp-Perm contract starting with Teaching Personnel Agency, with the view of going permanent, full-time, within the school.
Hours: Full-time, term time only, 8:30am – 15:30pm.
Primary Industry: Education and Training
Salary: £85 - £100 Per day (dependent on experience)
Transport: Drivers required for reliable transport. Some applicants will be accepted if they can assure other reliable transport means.
Job Duties:
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with students to provide support in managing challenging behaviours, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Duties include implementing behaviour management strategies, assisting in the development and implementation of individual behaviour plans, and supporting students in their social and emotional development.
The role will also have a strong focus on meeting the students individual needs, in accordance with their Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).
Required Qualifications/Training:
A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field.
Experience working with children or young people with behavioural difficulties.
Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
Experience:
Experience working with children or young people with behavioural difficulties.
Experience working within a care setting or another related field; with transferrable skills.
Knowledge and Skills:
A great understanding of Special Educational Needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and proactively when working independently.
Ability to identify early warning signs for young people experiencing difficult situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional training in behaviour management or special educational needs
Experience working in a school or educational setting.
First aid certification.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
