Job description

An SEN secondary school is currently working with Teaching Personnel to look for full-time candidates for Teaching Assistant positions. The roles would involve working one-to-one and within small groups to provide individualised support for students with complex needs. The schools work to provide an inclusive environment where students have access to individualised support.

Within these roles you will

  • Provide support to secondary aged students with complex needs in classroom settings
  • Assist with behaviour management and learning plans
  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs where required
  • Promote independence and social interaction among students
  • Assist teachers with preparation of learning materials and resources
  • Help to create a supportive and inclusive environment

Requirements for these roles

  • Previous experience working with secondary aged students with special educational needs, preferably in a school environment
  • Understanding of a variety of complex needs including, but not limited to, Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities and speech and language difficulties
  • Ability to provide personal care and mobility support 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy and passion for working with students with diverse needs
  • Full-time availability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
