Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant

Do you want to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated professional to join educational settings across Greater Manchester, where you’ll play a crucial role supporting students with special educational needs. This role requires a compassionate and adaptable individual with experience in Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs ( SEMH ), Pathological Demand Avoidance ( PDA), and speech and language delays. You will work closely with students, tailoring lessons and resources to cater to a variety of learning styles and needs, ensuring each child feels supported and encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Adapted lesson plans to suit various abilities and learning styles, ensuring each student is engaged.
  • Manage behaviour effectively using consistent routines to provide stability for students.
  • work on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and across the classroom, adapting your approach as needed.
  • Support speech and language development.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate and deliver high-quality support for students.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and a constructive learning environment with both the classroom and school setting
  • Obtain an empathetic, and nurturing approach to pupils
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children who have special educational needs.
  • Experience supporting students with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language delays
  • DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
  • An understanding of safeguarding procedures and behavioural policies.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, special educational needs but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
