Job Title:  SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: North Manchester

Start date: April 2025

Contract: Temporary

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess a confident personality to effectively support our students in overcoming obstacles and achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to primary school children with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop rapport and establish positive relationships with students, earning their trust and respect.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with challenging youth in an educational or similar setting.
  • A confident and resilient personality with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school community.
  • A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
  • No formal qualifications required; however, relevant experience and a commitment to personal and professional development are essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
