Job description

Teaching Assistant role with SEN experience

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant who wants to make a difference to children’s education and development. The ideal candidate must have experience working with children who have additional needs. If you have the skills and passion to support young learners, this role may be for you!

  • Hours: Full-time 8:30am – 15:30pm
  • Pay: £12.90 - £13.50
  • EYFS/KS1/KS2
  • Location:  Hyndburn, Lancashire

Responsibilities:

  • Have a nurturing and calm approach in order to build relationships with children.
  • Have experience working with SEN children.
  • Communicate with families/carers to provide feedback about children.
  • Provide support to small groups and 1:1 support.  
  • Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions to meet the needs of the children.
  • Work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO and other professionals to enhance children’s learning and development.
  • Assist with classroom management and use good behaviour management strategies.
  • Help to create a safe, fun and inclusive learning environment.
  • Commit to the wider life of the school and the community of the school.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
  • A good understanding of the EYFS, KS1 or KS1 curriculum.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Excellent Safeguarding knowledge.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
