Job description

Are you passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and diverse community in north Bristol.

This is a vibrant school with a mission to serve a richly diverse student population.

This role is ideal for recent graduates exploring careers in teaching, educational psychology, or social services, as well as experienced LSAs with literacy and numeracy expertise.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work one-to-one or with small groups, delivering interventions in literacy, numeracy, social skills, speech and language development, and mental health support.
  • Support students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers in the classroom to enhance learning for students with additional needs.

We’re looking for individuals with:

  • Strong English and Maths skills (proficiency in community languages is a bonus).
  • The ability to take initiative, build positive relationships, and support vulnerable students.
  • A firm yet empathetic approach to encouraging positive behaviour and personal development.
  • Competent ICT skills and a proactive attitude to making a difference.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
