Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant

We are pleased to partner with a dynamic and supportive school in Birmingham, which is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic SEN teaching assistant to join their dedicated team with an immediate start.

As an SEN teaching assistant, you will play a crucial role in making a positive impact to the educational journey of young learners with additional needs.

This role is working in a primary school in Wolverhampton and suited to a candidate with a keen passion for education and learning, confident creating a positive learning environment that promotes student growth and development.

You will also be expected to have good communication skills and effective group management experience.

About The Role:

  • Enthusiastic about education and teaching
  • Effectively managing behaviour in the classroom and following the schools behaviour policies
  • Ensuring safeguarding of children
  • Confidently and flexibly meeting the diverse needs, with experience supporting children
  • Be flexible to year group/ key stage
  • Able to support 1:1 or lead small groups of children

About You:

  • Knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs (ASD and ADHD)
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
  • Ideally Level 2 or 3 TA qualification or supporting teaching and learning qualification – preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience in education environment or possess appropriate transferrable skills
  • Full time availability
  • Transferrable skills to support children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
