1:1 Autism Support

We are pleased to partner with a dynamic and supportive school in Birmingham, which is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic 1:1 Autism Support to join their dedicated team to start in January 2025.

As Autism Support, you’ll play a crucial role in helping students achieve their full potential in an inclusive, supportive environment, making a positive impact on their educational journey.

This role is working in a primary school in Sutton Coldfield and suited to a candidate with a keen passion for education and learning, confident creating a positive learning environment that promotes student growth and development.

About The Role:

  • Enthusiastic about education and teaching
  • Provide 1:1, 2:1 or small group support to students with autism
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to adapt learning strategies
  • Ensuring safeguarding of children
  • Be open to personal care
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team
  • Assist students in their educational, emotional and social development
  • Be creative with activities to promote learning and inclusivity

About You:

  • Experience supporting children with autism
  • Previous experience in education environment or possess appropriate transferrable skills to support children with additional needs
  • Patience, empathy and a positive approach to support
  • Full time availability
  • Behaviour management skills
  • Ability to use initiative
  • Be creative with activities to promote learning and inclusivity

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
