Job description

SEMH Support Assistant

We are pleased to partner with a passionate and dedicated school in Birmingham, which is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic SEMH Support Assistant to join their dedicated team with an immediate start.

This role is working in a primary school in Dudley and suited to a candidate with a passion for education and learning, confident creating a positive learning environment that promotes student growth and development.

About The Role:

  • Confidently and flexibly meeting the diverse needs, with experience supporting children
  • Effectively managing behaviour in the classroom and following the schools behaviour policies
  • Ensuring safeguarding of children
  • Be flexible to year group/ key stage
  • Able to support 1:1 or lead small groups of children
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support

About You:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH/ SEN needs
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
  • Transferrable skills to support children with additional needs
  • Strong understanding of SEMH strategies and interventions
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum is advantageous

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
