SEN 1:1 Mentor

We are pleased to partner with a dynamic and supportive school in Birmingham, which is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic SEN 1:1 mentor to join their dedicated team to start in January 2025.

As a 1:1 SEN support, you will play a crucial role in making a positive impact to the educational journey of young learners with additional needs.

This role is working in a primary school in Walsall and suited to a candidate with a keen passion for education and learning, confident creating a positive learning environment that promotes student growth and development.

You will also be expected to have good communication skills and effective group management experience.

About The Role:

  • Enthusiastic about education and teaching
  • Provide 1:1, 2:1 or small group support to students with special educational needs
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Ensuring safeguarding of children
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team
  • Assist students in their educational and social development
  • Be creative with activities to promote learning and inclusivity

About You:

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs (ASD and ADHD)
  • Previous experience in education environment or possess appropriate transferrable skills to support children with additional needs
  • Full time availability
  • Experience supporting children with SEN in either SEN schools/provisions or 1:1
  • Behaviour management skills
  • Ability to use initiative
  • Be creative with activities to promote learning and inclusivity

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
