SEN Teaching Assistant

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Start Date: September

Hours: Full Time, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Location: Birmingham

Join a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional support and education to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are seeking a passionate and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to help create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Role Description: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure that our students receive the tailored support they require to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN.
  • Support students in developing their social skills and managing their behaviour.
  • Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist with personal care needs, if necessary.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to meet the varying needs of students.
  • Basic understanding of child development and educational practices..

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
  • References.
  • Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
