SEN KS4 Teacher
Location: Berkeley, Gloucestershire
Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 pro rata (M1 – UPS3) plus £3,000 welcome bonus*
Hours: Part-time, hours to be discussed at interview
A unique school catering to 11-16 year olds with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher for Key Stage 4. The school combines the best elements of mainstream and special education to create an environment where young people can thrive and work towards their own future goals. The focus is on preparing students for life beyond school, including further education and employability.

Role Overview:
The SEN Teacher will provide high-quality teaching and learning to students with SEMH and other complex needs, including those with anxiety and challenging behaviours. Some students may also present with multiple learning difficulties. Experience in working with SEMH or autism spectrum disorders (ASD) is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, considering the educational, physical, and social needs of students.
- Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Develop and implement short, medium, and long-term curriculum plans.
- Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets.
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress to parents, staff, and other relevant bodies.
- Stay informed through professional development, training, and research.
- Create lesson plans and reflect on teaching outcomes.
- Participate in the review of statements, Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans, and other student reviews.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status, or equivalent.
- Experience in a special school setting, particularly with students with SEMH.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
- Postgraduate diploma in SEN.
- Experience delivering a differentiated curriculum to students with a range of needs.
