Teaching Assistant for a 'Good' Hull alternative provision

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a 'Good' school in Hull that is working to raise attainment amongst children with challenging behaviour and SEMH conditions. The school is well run and provides a nurturing supportive environment for students and staff alike and would be a great opportunity for prospective candidate looking to increase their levels of experience.

About the role:

The school focuses on a mixture of core subject learning with the aim of equipping pupils for life post education and ensuring they have the skills and abilities to lead productive, independent and fulfilling lives. Alongside core subjects, there is also a focus on vocational courses across the school and some pupils will work offsite at other locations to hone their skills so as to prepare for life after school. Your role as a TA will be to facilitate a strong working environment for pupils, assisting them in lessons where appropriate and giving pupils the necessary skills to achieve their potential.

About you as the ideal candidate

  • The strongest candidates will have previous experience working with challenging behaviour either in an educational setting or perhaps in another relevant setting.
  • Alternatively, this experience outside working in a school, could involve professional exposure to challenging behaviour in young people that could be interchangeable with a school setting.
  • You must be a calm and collected individual able to handle challenging behaviour and work under sometimes disruptive conditions.
  • You will be committed to the welfare of children and always act to safeguard pupil at all times.
  • Ideally you will now have your own transport and a clean driving licence, but this is not necessary essential.

To be considered you must have:

  • A valid enhanced DBS check or be willing to have one through Teaching Personnel.
  • You will be able to provide 2 references and a 6 year working history.

What we can offer to you:

  • A pay range £58-£65 per day dependent on previous experience.
  • Opportunities to obtain more skills and qualifications.
  • The chance to meet lots of different schools and decide what works best for you.
  • The ability to work with lots of different schools and gain great experience, helping you decide what career is right for you within education.

If this sounds like the next step in your career please send your CV or call Harry on 01482 908020.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
