Job description

Teaching Assistant, FY1. 

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide personalized support to a child with cognitive delay in a mainstream primary school setting.

Pay: Between £12.90-£13.50 per hour.

Start Date: Monday 6th January 2025

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 15:30.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the child with cognitive delay to provide tailored academic support, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and can reach their full potential.
  • Implement individualized learning strategies and interventions to address the child's specific needs, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Collaborate effectively with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure consistency and coherence in the child's educational experience.
  • Monitor the child's progress and communicate regularly with parents/carers and other relevant stakeholders, providing feedback and updates on their development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with cognitive delay or other special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and well-being.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
