This role is perfect for graduates who want to gain real classroom experience and develop essential skills before pursuing a teaching qualification. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students, building up your knowledge and confidence to excel in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering lessons, working one-on-one and with small groups of students to enhance their learning.
- Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation, gaining insight into daily teaching tasks.
- Provide tailored support to students who may need additional help with literacy, numeracy, or other key areas.
- Actively engage with students, encouraging positive behaviour and supporting their social and emotional development.
- Help monitor and track student progress, working with teachers to ensure all students reach their potential.
- Develop your classroom management skills and get a taste of what it’s like to lead a class.
About You:
- A recent graduate with a degree in any subject (core subjects such as English, Maths, or Science are particularly beneficial).
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in teaching and a commitment to gaining classroom experience.
- Strong communication skills, enthusiasm, and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Previous experience working with children (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, coaching) is desirable but not essential.
- A resilient, adaptable mindset and a willingness to learn from experienced educators.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
