Job description
Teaching Personnel are currently looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a child in a Key Stage 2 class at a Good Primary School in the Blackburn area.
The school have reached out to us to support them with their vast needs for experienced and reliable SEN support staff. The school enjoy a mix of culturally diverse students and actively encourage candidates of all backgrounds to join their team.
The role itself will entail working with a child who has mild autism and communication difficulties, who will always need support around the school grounds. This is a full-time position with the possibility of moving into a permanent contract should the successful candidate reach the required standard of performance.
This is a great opportunity for graduates, former teaching assistants or youth workers looking for more responsibility and experience in supporting students. Any cover supervisors or graduates with any relevant or related work experience are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with children and young people
- Be passionate about working with children
- Be patient, caring and engaging
- Be enthusiastic about education
- Be supportive and helpful in and around the classroom
- Be confident with Maths, Science and English to GCSE level
- Hold or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce only)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
