SEN Headteacher
Job description
A highly reputable and award-winning SEN School Group is seeking an experienced Interim Headteacher to join the team at their Darwen site. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and skilled leader to make an immediate impact in a well-established, high-performing specialist school.
This interim position is initially contracted until Easter, with the potential for extension until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the school, ensuring high standards of education, safeguarding, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong and strategic leadership to maintain and enhance the school’s high standards.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and prepare for inspections.
- Lead and support staff in delivering outstanding education for students with SEN.
- Maintain a culture of excellence, inclusion, and student well-being.
- Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Headteacher or in a senior leadership role within an SEN setting.
- Ofsted experience with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
- A deep knowledge of SEN provision and a passion for delivering high-quality education.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
