Job description

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT 

Ideally, you will have some experience of SEN/ SEND in a learning environment but this is not essential if you show a strong desire to work with their young people. They welcome applications from people with or without experience, or suitably qualified professionals who are passionate about working with children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and support a child with special needs and help them reach their potential in a professional and caring manner
  • Be reliable and punctual when working individually in the community or when part of a team and supporting colleagues to do their jobs
  • Actively plan and join in play and youth activities including swimming, ball games, messy play and music
  • Be prepared to communicate differently with a wide range of people
  • Keep records and write reports when required
  • Ensure the highest level of safety and safeguarding at all times

  • Youth/Community work experience
  • SEN experience
  • Residential support/care worker
  • Mentoring
  • Teaching/Learning support assistance experience
  • Pro active and hard working

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
