Job Title: Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer
Location: Secondary School, Rushden, Northamptonshire
Salary: TLT Pay Scale, Grade G, Point 8-13, Pro Rata (£24,702 - £26,873 full-time equivalent)
Hours: 20 Hours per Week
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Contract Type: Part-Time

The Role:
Teaching Personnel are working with one of our partner schools for an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join their team as a Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and pastoral support of all students. As the Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer, you will work closely with staff, students, and external agencies to create a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all safeguarding and wellbeing matters within the school.
  • Monitor and support students’ wellbeing, providing guidance and working with them to address any safeguarding concerns.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and external agencies, such as social services, to provide tailored support for vulnerable students.
  • Maintain accurate records of safeguarding concerns and follow up on reported incidents in line with school policies.
  • Deliver targeted pastoral support and promote a positive, inclusive school culture.
  • Ensure that safeguarding policies and procedures are up to date, in line with national guidelines, and implemented effectively across the school.
  • Contribute to training and raising awareness among staff on safeguarding and wellbeing practices.

About You:
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to safeguarding and an understanding of the unique challenges facing young people today. You will ideally have experience working within an educational, social care, or safeguarding environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a safeguarding or pastoral care role, ideally within a school or youth setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate effectively to students, parents, and staff.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to work proactively and with sensitivity, handling safeguarding matters with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
