Job Title: SEN Support Assistant (Psychology Graduates)
Location: Primary Schools Across Bristol

About the Role:
Are you a psychology graduate passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are currently recruiting for full-time SEN Support Assistants to work in primary schools across Bristol. As a support assistant, you’ll play a key role in helping children with SEN achieve their full potential, both academically and socially.
This is a fantastic opportunity for psychology graduates who are looking to apply their knowledge in a hands-on, rewarding school environment. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with teachers and other support staff, providing tailored assistance to children who need extra support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Assisting with the development and implementation of individualised learning plans (IEPs)
- Helping children engage with the curriculum in a way that suits their specific needs
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support
- Providing feedback to teachers and school staff on progress and challenges
- Building strong, trusting relationships with students, parents, and staff
About You:
- A degree in Psychology (or related field)
- A genuine interest in working with children, particularly those with SEN
- Previous experience working with children (either in a voluntary or professional capacity) is desirable, but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive in supporting children’s development
- Ability to adapt and tailor approaches to meet individual needs
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £49.50, plus an annual subscription fee of £16 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
