Part-Time Maths Teacher – Secondary School in Hove

Role and Responsibilities:

As a part-time Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for:


Teaching a range of secondary school students, inspiring them to achieve their best in mathematics.
Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
Assessing student progress and providing regular, constructive feedback.
Promoting a growth mindset and fostering a love for learning in your students.
Working collaboratively with the maths department and other staff to maintain the high academic standards of the school.
Supporting students' overall development through guidance and mentorship, in line with the school’s strong pastoral care ethos.
Contributing to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and student leadership opportunities.

 

Qualifications and Person Specification:


✔ Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
✔ A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
✔ Experience teaching mathematics at the secondary school level (although NQTs are also welcome to apply).
✔ Strong subject knowledge and the ability to make complex concepts accessible and engaging for all students.
✔ A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe, confident, and challenged.
✔ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
✔ Passionate about inspiring students to reach their full potential and achieve academic success.
✔ A proactive approach to professional development and a desire to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the school.
✔ Ideally, previous experience in teaching GCSE Maths, but this is not essential.
