Job description

Are you a student looking for part-time flexible roles within education?

Are you a recent graduate seeking experience within a mainstream secondary school?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with several secondary schools located across Stoke-on-Trent, looking for committed and reliable Cover Supervisors to join the team on a part-time/flexible basis. The schools are all in great locations with excellent transport links between Congleton, Sandbach and Crewe.

  • Opportunity to earn £90-£120 per day (dependent on experience)
  • Flexible working with opportunity for full-time roles with an immediate start upon registering with Teaching Personnel

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classes in the absence of the class teacher
  • Ensuring all students remain focused and on task so all work is completed
  • Manage students’ behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policies, creating a positive and supportive working environment
  • Liaising with other teachers and SLT within the school to provide both positive and negative feedback on lessons

What we are looking for:

  • Experience working with young people (preferably within a school setting, but not essential)
  • Good communication skills with both students and staff
  • Strong classroom management skills with good knowledge of the general school curriculum
  • Safeguarding training (must be done through Teaching Personnel)

To be considered for this role, applicants must have an enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
