Job description

Are you a recent graduate looking for experience within a mainstream secondary school?

Are you an aspiring teacher with a passion for supporting the academic development of young students?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a mainstream secondary school located in Stoke-on-Trent looking for a reliable and adaptable general Cover Supervisor. The school is in a great location with excellent transport links between Macclesfield, Crewe and Sandbach. It is a dynamic and thriving school dedicated to fostering academic excellence and supporting the personal development of its pupils.

  • Opportunity to earn £90-£120 per day (dependent on experience)
  • Immediate start upon registering with Teaching Personnel
  • Flexible work with the opportunity for full-time

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classes across a variety of subjects in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Ability to maintain a calm and focused classroom environment, ensuring students remain on task and behave appropriately
  • Creating an engaging and positive environment for all students
  • Liaising with class teachers and pastoral staff to ensure the needs of students are met

What we require:

  • Previous experience working within a school environment is necessary for this role
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage and motivate students effectively
  • Good understanding of the secondary school curriculum and classroom management strategies
  • Safeguarding Training (must be done through Teaching Personnel)

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a DBS registered on the update service or be willing to apply for one upon registering with Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
