About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time role is to cover a long-term absence, starting after Easter. The school has a strong reputation for academic excellence and inclusivity, providing students with high-quality language education that fosters cultural awareness and communication skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive lessons in at least one foreign language, preferably French and/or Spanish, across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality MFL lessons that inspire and challenge students.
- Teach at least one foreign language (French and/or Spanish) across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of vocabulary, grammar, and cultural context.
- Develop students’ confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in the target language.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage students and accommodate different learning styles.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Encourage a passion for language learning and an appreciation of different cultures.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities where possible.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching at least one modern foreign language (French and/or Spanish) at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- A strong understanding of language pedagogy and the ability to make lessons engaging and interactive.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for inspiring students in language learning.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
