Role Overview:

Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and skilled Maths Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Sutton Coldfield. This full-time position begins in January to cover a maternity leave, providing a chance to work in a supportive and high-achieving educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring students develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Student Engagement: Inspire and motivate students of varying abilities to reach their full academic potential through innovative and interactive teaching methods.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement and prepare them for exams.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and supports student wellbeing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Maths department to share best practices, contribute to curriculum planning, and participate in departmental activities.
  • Pastoral Care: Support the school’s ethos by fostering positive relationships with students and contributing to their personal development.
  • Professional Growth: Engage in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Maths.
  • Subject Expertise: Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum and the ability to teach a range of topics confidently at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Teaching Experience: Proven experience in delivering high-quality Maths lessons and managing a classroom effectively.
  • Passion for Education: Demonstrates enthusiasm for Maths and a commitment to inspiring a love of learning in students.
  • Effective Communicator: Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with students and colleagues.
  • Team-Oriented: Able to collaborate effectively within a department and contribute positively to the school community.
  • Adaptable and Organised: Capable of managing a varied workload while tailoring teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
