About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position is to cover a long-term absence, starting after Easter. The school has a strong reputation for academic excellence and provides a supportive and inclusive environment for both staff and students.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring students develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum, ensuring all students are engaged and challenged.
- Teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, adapting lessons to meet the needs of different abilities.
- Use a range of teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and foster a love for the subject.
- Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide feedback to support their development.
- Create an inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence in Maths.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and focused learning atmosphere.
- Work collaboratively with the Maths department to develop resources and share best practices.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and contribute to the wider school community.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in Mathematics.
- Effective classroom management skills with the ability to motivate and engage students.
- A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and helping students reach their full potential.
- Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school initiatives.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
