About the Role

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position is to cover a long-term absence, starting after Easter. The school has a strong reputation for academic excellence and provides a supportive and inclusive environment for both staff and students.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring students develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum, ensuring all students are engaged and challenged.
  • Teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, adapting lessons to meet the needs of different abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and foster a love for the subject.
  • Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide feedback to support their development.
  • Create an inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence in Maths.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and focused learning atmosphere.
  • Work collaboratively with the Maths department to develop resources and share best practices.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and contribute to the wider school community.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in Mathematics.
  • Effective classroom management skills with the ability to motivate and engage students.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and helping students reach their full potential.
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school initiatives.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
