A thriving secondary school in Southsea is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maths Teacher to join their team full-time from February. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a significant impact on students' academic journey and foster a love for mathematics.

As a Maths Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring all teaching meets curriculum requirements and is tailored to students’ abilities.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that challenge students and inspire a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Use effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing targeted interventions where necessary.
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations, helping them achieve their personal best through effective teaching and revision strategies.
  • Contribute to the department’s collaborative planning and resource sharing, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and colleagues to support students’ overall development and well-being.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential.
  • Experience: A minimum of six months of teaching experience in the UK. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply.
  • Education: A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.

  • Subject Expertise: A strong understanding of the mathematics curriculum and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Classroom Management: Proven ability to maintain a well-organised, respectful, and focused classroom environment.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students of varying abilities.
  • Adaptability: A flexible and innovative approach to teaching, with a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of learners.
  • Passion for Mathematics: A genuine enthusiasm for the subject, coupled with a desire to instill this passion in students.
