Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring all students are challenged and supported.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing interventions as necessary.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that fosters curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Maths curriculum, ensuring it remains engaging, accessible, and challenging.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and promote continuous improvement within the department.
  • Uphold the school’s high standards of behaviour, attendance, and academic achievement.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support pupil success.
  • Participate in whole-school initiatives, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all safeguarding procedures to maintain a safe and supportive environment for all pupils.

 

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have substantial experience teaching Maths at the secondary level.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Maths curriculum and an ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Be passionate about inspiring students to develop a strong understanding and appreciation of mathematics.
  • Exhibit excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Be proactive, reflective, and committed to their own professional development.
  • Share the school’s ethos of high standards, respect, and collaboration.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
