Maths Teacher required for a secondary school in Portsmouth

About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a "Good"-rated secondary school in Portsmouth. This position is ideal for an educator passionate about developing students’ numeracy skills and fostering a love for Mathematics in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring all students are challenged and supported to achieve their full potential.
  • Use effective assessment methods to identify and address gaps in knowledge, promoting a strong foundation in numeracy skills.
  • Create a calm and respectful classroom environment aligned with the school’s behaviour policies and focus on respect.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Maths curriculum and integrate cross-curricular opportunities where relevant.
  • Support the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge and experience teaching Maths.
  • A commitment to supporting all students, including those with SEND, to achieve academic success.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a proactive approach to addressing off-task behaviour.
  • A desire to contribute positively to the school community and engage in professional development opportunities.
