Responsibilities
As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teaching mathematical concepts ranging from basic arithmetic to advanced algebra, geometry, and data analysis.
- Preparing students for GCSE exams, ensuring they are confident and ready for assessment.
- Assessing students’ work, providing constructive feedback, and setting targets for improvement.
- Supporting students in developing problem-solving skills and a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
- Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
- Contributing to the department’s development by collaborating with other teachers and sharing best practices.
- Supporting extracurricular activities, such as maths clubs, to engage students outside of lessons.
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and academic performance, creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Maths Teacher who is committed to helping students achieve their best. The ideal candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching maths at secondary level.
- Have a strong knowledge of the maths curriculum and experience in preparing students for GCSE exams.
- Be enthusiastic about teaching maths and able to inspire students of all abilities to develop a love for the subject.
- Have excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Be able to assess and monitor student progress effectively, ensuring that all students make significant improvements.
- Be a strong team player, willing to contribute to the department and share best teaching practices.
- Be committed to ongoing professional development and staying current with new teaching strategies and curriculum developments.
