About the Role
Teaching Personnel, the UK’s largest Education Recruitment Agency, is seeking a dedicated SEN Maths Teacher to join a specialist primary school in Lichfield. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make a significant difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
Are you an experienced Maths Teacher with a commitment to supporting students with additional needs? This role is open to teachers with experience in Key Stages 1 and 2, as well as secondary-trained professionals eager to transition into SEN education. In this position, you will design and deliver bespoke Maths lessons tailored to meet the needs of individual learners. Collaborating with a skilled support team, you’ll foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, empowering students to develop confidence and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated Maths lessons that cater to the individual abilities of SEN students.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with colleagues and external specialists.
- Use creative and adaptive teaching methods to engage students and address diverse learning needs.
- Support students’ social and emotional development, encouraging positive behaviours and effective communication.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers, keeping them updated on progress and engaging them in their child’s education.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience teaching Maths, ideally with SEN students, particularly those with ASC.
- A compassionate, flexible, and resilient approach to working with learners who have additional needs.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with other staff and external professionals.
- A current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
