Job Title: Level 2 Teaching Assistant (SEN) – Full-Time
Location: Multiple Schools & Roles available

Salary: Competitive, Dependent on Experience (£87 - £100 per day)

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you want to make a real difference in a mainstream secondary school setting? Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our supportive and dynamic partnership schools in Liverpool.

Role Overview:

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant (SEN), you will work closely with students who require additional support due to learning difficulties, autism spectrum conditions (ASC), ADHD, speech and language challenges, or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Your role will involve assisting teachers in delivering inclusive and engaging lessons while ensuring students receive the tailored support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Assist the class teacher in adapting learning materials and strategies to meet individual student needs.
  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, helping them develop confidence and resilience.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets.
  • Use a range of intervention strategies to support learning, including sensory techniques, visual aids, and structured routines.
  • Monitor student progress, providing feedback to staff and parents where necessary.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Supervise students during break/lunch periods as required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting SEN students in a secondary school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of different learning needs and intervention strategies.
  • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people.
  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
