Learning Support Assistant (SEN School – Southampton)

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a genuine difference in their educational journey? Teaching Personnel is excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a thriving Special Educational Needs (SEN) school on the outskirts of Southampton.

About the Role:
This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. As an LSA, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You’ll work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment tailored to each child’s individual needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils in their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Helping to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Assisting with classroom activities and providing 1:1 or small group support.
  • Promoting a safe and nurturing environment to help students thrive.

What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking someone with:

  • Experience working with children with additional needs, whether in a school, care, or community setting.
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning and development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to adapt and learn in a dynamic school environment.
