Learning Support Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel, in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school in Winchester, is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Practitioner to join their vibrant and inclusive community. This role is integral to supporting students’ academic, social, and personal development, ensuring every learner thrives in their education.
The Role:
As a Learning Support Practitioner, you will:
- Work closely with students who require additional help to access the curriculum.
- Provide tailored support to pupils with varying needs, including those with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt and deliver engaging learning experiences.
- Promote a nurturing and inclusive environment, fostering self-esteem and independence in students.
- Assist with classroom management and administrative tasks to support teachers.

Requirements:
- Experience in an educational or support role, preferably in a secondary school setting.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people in their learning journey.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent, are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
