Are you passionate about supporting young people who need extra guidance to reach their full potential? A secondary in Portsmouth are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their Alternative Provision team. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who require additional support to thrive in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Learning Support Assistant within the Alternative Provision, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to students with additional learning needs, ensuring they remain engaged and confident in their studies.

  • Work closely with teachers to adapt lesson materials and provide one-to-one or small group interventions.

  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour, fostering a respectful and supportive learning environment.

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff to support personalised learning plans.

  • Encourage students to develop self-confidence, resilience, and independence in their learning.

  • Support student's emotional and social development, helping them navigate challenges and build positive relationships.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students within the Alternative Provision setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
