Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEN Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Colchester

Job Type:

Temporary, Part-Time

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

1. Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in English and Maths subjects.

2. Develop tailored lesson plans and teaching materials to meet the individual learning needs of each student.

3. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to ensure academic improvement.

4. Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other relevant stakeholders regarding student performance and progress.

5. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student attendance, and academic achievements.

Required Qualifications:

- A relevant degree in Education or a related field

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in tutoring or teaching students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

- In-depth understanding of the UK National Curriculum for English and Maths at Key Stage 3 level

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit the individual learning styles of students

Preferred Qualifications:

- Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN)

- Experience using assistive technologies to support student learning

Working Conditions:

- Part-time hours, flexible schedule

- Work primarily in a classroom, educational setting or learners home

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
