Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Colchester

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Part-Time hours

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English and Maths lessons to Key Stage 3 students
  • Assess student learning needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly
  • Provide individualised support to students to enhance their understanding of key concepts
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths at Key Stage 3 level
  • Experience working with secondary school students

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in English and Maths

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Proficient in using educational technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education
  • Experience in tutoring or mentoring students

Working Conditions:

The role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis, providing tutoring services to Key Stage 3 students in English and Maths. The work environment will primarily be in a home setting within a school in Colchester, Essex. The tutor may need to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs and may involve occasional communication with parents regarding student progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
