Job Title: KS3 SEMH Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Danbury

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons to support academic progress and emotional well-being
  • Assess students' learning needs and create individualised learning plans
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure holistic support for students

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Strong understanding of the Key Stage 3 curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with SEMH students

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SEMH strategies and interventions
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Proficient in assessment and progress tracking

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in Special Education Needs (SEN)
  • Experience in working with vulnerable or at-risk youth

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a home environment, interacting with students, school staff, and parents. The work hours are full-time, with flexibility required to meet student needs. Some travel may be necessary to attend meetings or training sessions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
