Job Title: English and Maths GCSE SEMH Tutor

Job Duties:

The English and Maths GCSE SEMH Tutor will be responsible for providing tailored tutoring sessions to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Duties include creating individualised lesson plans, delivering engaging and interactive lessons, assessing student progress, and providing feedback to students and parents/guardians. The tutor will also collaborate with other educators to support student learning and development.

Required Qualifications:

  • A relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Excellent knowledge of the GCSE English and Maths curriculum
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

A degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in tutoring or teaching students with SEMH needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Proficiency in creating engaging lesson plans
  • Strong assessment and feedback skills
  • Knowledge of SEMH strategies and interventions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional qualifications in special education or SEMH support
  • Experience using technology in education

Working Conditions:

The English and Maths GCSE SEMH Tutor will work in a home setting or online, depending on the needs of the students. Part-time hours will be scheduled based on student availability and may include evenings or weekends. The tutor will need to travel to the designated location in Little Baddow, Essex for in-person sessions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
