Job Title: KS3 LAC Outreach Tutor

Location:

Job Duties:

  • Provide academic support to Key Stage 3 (KS3) Looked After Children (LAC) in an outreach setting
  • Develop and implement tailored learning plans to meet the educational needs of each student
  • Deliver engaging and interactive tutoring sessions to enhance academic performance
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with education professionals, social workers, and caregivers to support the overall well-being and educational development of LAC

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with Looked After Children
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching/tutoring experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the UK education system
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Experience working with children in care

Working Conditions:

This role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis, providing outreach tutoring to LAC in the East of England. The work may require travel to different locations within Essex to meet with students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
