Job Title: KS2 SEN Outreach Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Tilbury

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Part-Time hours

Job Duties:

  • Provide academic support and guidance to Key Stage 2 (KS2) students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an outreach setting.
  • Create individualised learning plans to address the specific needs of each student.
  • Deliver tailored lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods accordingly.
  • Collaborate with SEN coordinators, teachers, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with SEN students

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of the UK education system and curriculum
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
  • Training in specific SEN interventions and techniques

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in an outreach capacity, visiting students in their learning environments
  • Collaborative work with school staff, parents, and external agencies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
