Job Title: Intervention Support Worker

Location:

North West England, Greater Manchester, Bolton

£12.90 - £13.50 Per hour

 

We are currently recruiting for an intervention support assistant for one of our SEMH Secondary Schools in the Bolton area. You will work closely with studnets whohave social, emotional and mental health difficulties, as well as some challenging behaviour.

A full driving licence, and access to own car is essential for this role as you may undertake some outreach work.

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students who require additional help in the classroom
  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans for students with special needs
  • Support classroom teachers in managing student behaviour and engagement
  • Help create a positive learning environment for all students
  • Collaborate with other support staff to meet the educational needs of students

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people
  • Clear and current DBS check

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

Experience working with children or young people

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Basic knowledge of special educational needs (SEN)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in a school setting
  • Full-Time hours, temporary position
  • Potential for occasional evening or weekend work for school events
  • May involve some physical activity such as assisting students with mobility

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
