SEMH Teaching Assistant
Job description
A specialist secondary school in Stockport is looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in classes with students who may need extra support with work and behaviour. The students within the school are ages 11-19 and have a variety of different social, emotional and mental health.
They are currently working towards qualifications and have individualised learning plans to help them work towards their goals.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Work alongside teachers in lessons to create a positive learning environment
- Help students with specific needs that they may have and work towards helping each student individually
- Provide feedback to teachers when needed about progression of students
- Promote respect for other students and members of staff through setting an example of that yourself
For this role you should:
- Have previous experience working with students with additional needs
- Have previous experience working in a school
- Be able to deal with difficult behaviour in a positive and effective way
- Be available full-time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
