Interim SENCO - Dorchester (Immediate Start until Easter)
 
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Dorchester
Duration: Until Easter 2025
Pay: Paid to scale
 

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join a local Secondary school in Dorchester on an interim basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to make a real impact on the educational experience and outcomes of students with additional needs in a supportive and dynamic school environment. We welcome both full time and part time applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the provision for students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing targeted support where necessary.
  • Ensure that all students with SEN have equal access to the curriculum and extracurricular activities.
  • Lead and support staff training in best practices for inclusive education.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and support.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess experience in a SENCO role or working with students with additional needs.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Show a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
